His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received Athanasius Thomas and Mor Nicholovos Zakaria, at the Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh on September 4, 2017.
His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs, also attended the meeting.
His Holiness and their Eminences had a very cordial and fruitful discussion about different problems faced by the Malankara Church.
In light of the discussions, His Holiness and their Eminences were hopeful to find permanent solution by initiating a dialogue among all stakeholders.

Peace settlement is most necessary for the defeated party just like in 1958. Orthodox Church may extend a peaceful step in accordance with xian principles and strictly according to the Supreme Court verdict of 2017. Such a verdict is sufficient in Republic of India and it will be executed because it is the law of the land. If Syrian church forms a rite with the Protestant Marthomites, Syrian church will be immediately evicted from Universal Orthodox family!!!
