On the initiative of H.E. Thomas Mor Alexandrios, Metropolitan of Mumbai Diocese, children from ‘Angel Nest’ – an orphanage for destitute girls run by the Nest India Foundation were invited to the Onam celebrations at St. Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Church, Marol, Mumbai. A total of 28 children and their caretaker, all non-malayalees belonging to different states and speaking different mother-tongues attended the programme and won everybody’s hearts with their beautiful rendition of the Lord’s prayer in Malayalam. It may be recalled that Mor Alexandrios had visited the orphanage last month and sponsored the cost of one meal. His Grace also sponsored the cost of ‘Onakodi’- new clothes worn by the children on the occasion.
