Rev. Fr. Sabu Thomas Chorattil elevated to the rank of Corepiscopos.

 

Rev. Fr. Sabu Thomas Chorattil, a senior priest of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North America is being elevated to the rank of Corepiscopos in recognition of his dedicated services to the Holy Church, on Saturday October 13, 2012 by His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldo, Archbishop of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church in North America, and His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Archbishop of the Syriac Orthodox Church for Western USA.

 

The Holy Service for the elevation was during the celebration of Holy Eucharist by their Eminences, beginning at 8.30 a.m. at St. Mary Syrian Orthodox Church, located at: 10034 Laurel Avenue, Whittier, California where Rev. Fr. Sabu Thomas has been serving as Vicar for the past 19 years. Many Rev. Priests, Deacons and faithful of the Syrian Orthodox Church and many other dignitaries attended this blessed event.

 

On Saturday October 13, 2012 Rev. Fr. Sabu Thomas Chorattil honored to become elevated Corepiscopos, the highest rank that is conferred upon a married priest in the Syrian Orthodox Church, by Their Eminences Mor Titus Yaldo Archbishop of the Malankara Archdiocese and Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan Archbishop of the Western Archdiocese USA.
