Consecration of St. Peter’s Jacobite Syrian Church, Bahrain.

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II consecrated the foundation rock and St. Peter Church in Bahrain.
 
His Holiness was assisted by their Eminences: Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Patriarchal Vicar in Bahrain, Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin and Secretary of the Regional Synod, Mor Anthimos Matthews, Patriarchal Vicar in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs, and Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Jazeera and Euphrates.



 
At the end of the rite of the Consecration, His Holiness congratulated the community and spoke about the importance of building a place where they can worship God and glorify His Holy Name. He also spoke about the tolerance found in Bahrain, and about the Christian spirit of living in peace and harmony with the governing authorities.
