His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II at St. Georges Cathedral – Al Ain, U.A.E.

On November 8, 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II was received at St. George Jacobite Syrian Simhasana Cathedral in Al Ain, by the clergy and faithful of our Church. He then presided over the evening (ramsho) prayer at the cathedral.

His Beatitude Catholicos Mor Baselios Thomas I, Catholicos of India, and their Eminences: Mor Osthatheos Ishaq, Metropolitan of Mylapore and Delhi and Patriarchal Vicar in the U.A.E., Mor Barthelmaus Nathanael Youssef, Patriarchal Vicar in the UAE and the Arabain Gulf, Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin, Mor Severius Kuriakose, Chief Metropolitan of the Knanaya Archdiocese, Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, attended the prayer.



At the end of the prayer, His Holiness congratulated the church in Al Ain for celebrating the 40th anniversary. He said that “We are here to visit you and to express the one faith that has come down to us from the Holy Apostles […] Faith that has been kept with a great cost: the blood of the holy martyrs”. He also expressed his joy to be with the faithful of the church, he said: “you give us hope for the future of the church; this church is a proof that nothing is impossible”.

His Beatitude the Catholicos, and His Eminence Mor Osthatheos, then gave small speeches in which they welcomed His Holiness.
At the end, a token of appreciation was presented to His Holiness for the occasion.
